HI amelia! lol
halo! back back.. i MIA too long le bahs
hahas. but i am very tired. but i think i just filled myself with alot of cool stuff
though tired, i think i am very satisfied. i feel very fufilled.
so anw, the above is the pic of pula ubin.. which was my home from 8 till 11 june.
yup spent my bday. and multiple thanks to those who wished me happpy bday even though i
only read it on thurs night.
but i must say i am very touched and grateful to you guys. :D
lets start journaling. hahas
anway, i went for this
so on 7th june.. i was like waited until 10 oclock than pack my back..
than pack till 12 than went to bed.. but i cant sleep cos too excited.
next day, woke up at 5.45 quickly eat le try to shit wadeva i can.,.
but i didnt manage to do so... so sad.
than go meet shuxian they all at jurong east. went to pungol and
went on the bus to pungol jetty some world war 2 memorial area
so had a short briefing at the reception area and joined groups..
was given lucky no. 7 : marco polo,
tgt with zhi guang, qikai and cindy from BP
than we quickly took a bum boat to pula ubin OBS camp 2!
some icebreaking. the whole week of food supply was given to us
so anw, as the responsible food IC, i distrubuted our lunch first and than also the individual happy food
of course with the help of some great guys. :D
than pack store, put on harness belay blah blah
than learnt how to pitch a tent. rather cool as long as the ground is soft.
so i went to cook dinner, which was rice and some canned curry
and i got myself a bloody cut. but thx to qikai for helping me administer first aid. lol
yea, so the rice turned out too little but the canned food was rather nice.
curry and some bigger than ikanbilies fish... plus zhi guang's vegetarian luo han zhai
the breeze was really good. and the scenery too
next we went for our shower, probably the best of the whole camp
and we had to start packing for the expedition the next day!
and we went to sleep.. couldnt sleep. dunno why.. waiting for my bday to come.. LOL
but went to toilet twice cos its damn hot and i needed to wet myself?
ouh, and not forgetting, there is this firealarm some where at 11..
so we gathered near the jetty and i spotted southern cross Crux hahas.
nextday rise and shine! went for high elements in the morning
but we had some very unique and cool Phisical training b4 dat.
hahas. so funny, didnt know that morning greetings can bcome PT also lol!
and ours high element was called double dangling duo DDD
which bascically had a few logsalligned vertically upwards by ropes
and in a sense that they are far apart and
you got to climb up one by one to the top with a partner.
so i partnered zhiguang and we were probably th fastest cos we were tall enough
and we did pull up for the first two logs.. only when the distance got further
we teamedworked and first i step on his legs and get up and i pull him up from there
so when we were up there waiting to be belayed, my watch sang a bday song for me
and joy insisted i cried or else they wont let me down. oh wells. thanks!
yea so me and ZG went on to try the harder one.
although we slipped a couple of times, it was fun and it proves that teamwork will make one stronger.
and i concluded that, despite our individual physical attributes, if we help one another and work as one, we can be a great giant and scale the logs, which one person could not.
yea. not bad.
had lunch, rather boring to say anth abt it.. since everyday is bread and biscute. oh my..
imagine eating that for 5 consequitive days. siao!
next we went Kayaking! had capsize drills which was quite fun
but we got all soak into the water than also leant the T-X rescue. even more fun!
so we got our backpacks into a safety boat for transport and we all kayaked to camp one.
which wasnt far, but we were late bcos we were pratising the TX rescue.
camp 1 is way bigger than camp 2 but i dosent really matter.
and we had COOKED DINNER.. i was pratically joy's rubbish bin..
wadeva she dont wanna eat just dump onto my plate. lol..but must thank her
since i was so darn hungry after all that activities.
ouh i cant tell you how much it sucked to be pitching tents at night
where its dark and squessy, the floor is so darn hard for us to poke thru using tent pegs
and we got to succumb to using rocks to hold the twing. shit man!
i tot it will be the worse night ever but it turned out that we were so tired
we slept rather peacefully.
nextday was the mission! to kayak around the whole of pula ubin
as you can see from the map above. since zhiguang is the sea expedition leader
and i am his partner, tgt, we are the navigator for the whole fleet of 63 or sth.
so we had this diamond formation and we were leading.
i had probs making the kayak go straight but ZG was there to help me
canoeer lehs.. where can dunno hor..
yea, so i had a power engine behind.
on the way got guai lan ppl lehs.. but nvm lets hack care them..
cos got Grace also.. ZG will know. hahaha
and everytime a big boat passes by, there will be simultaneous wave
and the wave size was propotional to the boat's size and speed
very fun.. wavy wavy de..
we were also againts the current.. so if we stop, we will drift backwards.
malaysia was like just on my left and indonesia in front.. so cool
at chek jawa there the waters was so choppy
very very cool and exciting! but we held our speed, in fact we went so fast
the rest couldnt catch up..
just below our waters wld have been coral reefs if the tide was low
ouh and heres a little secret, i peed into the sea..
so paiseh lehs.. but cant hold liao..
4 litres of water in my bladder.. when you jump in the water and try to pee
the feeling is totally different.
probably due to the water pressure and the many ppl on their kayak
passing you by and wondering wth are you doing.
the smater ones start gigling though..
so we lacked alot behind cos i took a long time to pee
but bcos we worked tgt again, we raced to the front.. another achievement
our speed was so fast and furious, water splashes up.. imagine that.
after we reached our destination, campsite 3
we pitched up
qikai zhiguang and i had brilliant ideas to start the fire.
went to pick up twigs..
saved us alot of solid fuel.
and we started boiling water to cook instant noodles. it was great man
ouh, and we saboed joy to be the land ex leader with zhengQian.
give them some chance to pei yang gan qing..
this year, my bday gift was to have witness a LUNAR ECLIPSE!
at first sight, i tot it was some balloon cos it was damn red and near the horizon,
futher observations shows that i had not swayed due to air current it is slowly rises
concluded that it was the moon and explained to everyone else how it works.
the rednees was oh my god. i will nvr forget.
the first lunar eclipse i've witnessed.. freaking nice.
at night had patrol duty from 1.45 to 2..
so after we are done, i went to send some special ppl to the toilet for some special reason
LOL. but yea cos the toilet is 400m away plus it was dark
it was only rite to send her there.
and we just sat at the rocks and chatted for an hour or so..
b4 going back to sleep at arnd 3.30..
ahhh so romantic.. the breeze at pula ubin is really cool man..
i love it!
day 4, last day for me.
woke up late by 12 mins.. everyone else tents are already down
except for mine. so funny
than forgot wad really happened but we packed our bags again
added the ponchos and life jackets and than played this taping game
we did it is 12 seconds.. fastest!! 2nd was 20 secs.
proves that marco polo is performing. lols.
adjouring the meaning ann havent tell me yet lors.
nvm
than picked up our freaking heavy bags.. at least 25 kg bahs
and walked walked.
although we left last, and we spent alot of time reflecting,
we managed to reach first! super cool
had lots of fun on the way, craped alot joked alot of lame jokes.
pround to be a member of the 5 musketeers
ouh and i was also the cheer leader! hahas.
saw lots of liu lian there.. durian
so we even picked one up..
but couldnt eat it cos obs cannot be resposible for food poisoning
but wells, i feel that all of us completing the 13 or 15 km trekking was damn cool
our speed was arnd 2.5 km per hour which was good.
considering the bags on us.
and marco polo was first to reach so happy.
than i had to leave for camp 1 to board a boat back to mainland sg.
hmm although sad, i was very touched how the other 4 guys sent me off.
and not forgetting joy also luhs.
but we decided we shall not be sad cos we can look forward in organising an outing!
yea so i look forward... so far only joy added me.
hmm, will go and find th paper and start adding the rest on msn.
yup and thanks to aunt and kevin for picking me up at the jetty.
took train home.. was damn smelly, didnt bath since the sea day 2...

but at camp site 3, the water was like brown.. dirty..
but it was all fun.. i tot i will bath immediately when i reached home
but i went to weight myself.. 56.7
and after shitting, 5 days of shit, nvr come out..
become 55.4
1.3 kg of shit.. can you believe it? lols.
than i didnt even change i sit down and KO!
feel a sleep on the floor.. so dirty..
with a smelly shirts and tired body, i went home with pebbles from ubin in my shoes
but my heart was filled and my soul was happy
ouh and i got to love elvina ffor giving me this wonderful opportunity.. thank you.
but i know words alone can express my gratitude..
on the whole, OBS was awesome!
there will be something in it that will stay with me for life
